All-star and former Chiat/Day Creative Director, Joe Hemp has created
numerous award-winning commercial and print campaigns. An Iowa State Design
School graduate, Joe began in advertising as an Art Director at Carmichael
Lynch in Minneapolis. He later came to Los Angeles where he created famous
commercials for Acura including the noted "Hot Wheels" commercial.
While at Chiat/Day, Los Angeles,
he created Gold Clio, Gold One Show and Cannes Lion winning work for Nissan
and was the Art Director for the Nissan "Toys" commercial-the most honored
car commercial of all-time. His campaigns that launched the Nissan Maxima
and Nissan Xterra are considered two of the most successful automotive
introductions in the company's history-the latter winning the Grand Effie
Award for the most effective campaign in America.
In 2000, Joe joined his long time
Chiat/Day creative partner, Rob Siltanen, to become a Partner and Creative
Director at S&P. At S&P, Joe's work for brands such as Round Table,
Gateway and EA Sports is recognized as some of the most noteworthy and
effective advertising the companies have ever done.
